It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year

The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East

Speaking of the New England, they're among three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?

You can find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis really for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Colts beating the Broncos

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There is a long way to travel but the door is available for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both put up 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before next week's major meeting between the two in Los Angeles

Both could realistically be without a loss as well - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the NFL

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year so far
